When you shop for fine clothing, you look for the quality of the stitch and the integrity of the fabric. When you invest in fine jewelry or fine art, you look for the provenance and the craftsmanship behind the piece. I believe your garden deserves that same level of discernment. That is why I am so proud to introduce our Spring 2026 Curated Annual & Perennial Collection at Skywyld Farm.
Why Fine Plants Focus on Roots, Not Just Blooms
If you visit Skywyld Farm at Rose's & Rust this weekend, you’ll notice that our "Curated Annual & Perennial Collection" looks a bit different than the plants you might see at a grocery store or a mass-market garden center. Much of our stock is currently in its lush, green stage, and while SOME are showing their first tight buds, you won't find plants forced into premature, weak flowering.
As a horticulturist, I choose it this way on purpose. Here is why:
Curated Quality vs. Mass Production
Just like a designer garment is built to last for seasons, a professional nursery plant is grown for longevity. Mass-market plants are often "pushed" with growth regulators and heavy fertilizers to bloom early for shelf appeal. This "fast-fashion" approach to gardening often leads to transplant shock and short-lived color.
Skywyld plants are fine nursery stock. They are grown to be vigorous and resilient. By offering them to you "in the green," I am ensuring that the plant’s energy is stored in a root system, ready to explode with color in your home garden.
The Neonicotinoid-Free Standard
Fine art is defined by its purity and the intent of the artist. Our plants are neonicotinoid-free, grown with respect for the pollinators that will eventually visit your garden. This isn't just a plant; it's a clean, safe addition to your home ecosystem.
Fresh Blooms & Dried Art
I have hand-selected these specific annuals and perennials because they are the "fine jewels" of the floral world. These varieties are curated specifically for freshening your home with cut flowers or for creating everlasting dried arrangements. From the architectural drama of heirloom Artichokes to the bold, violet-red of 'New Vintage Violet' Yarrow, these plants provide the raw materials for you to create art in your own vases.

A Promise in Every Pot
You will see that some of our plants are already budded—a tiny, tight promise of the color to come. This is the "Sweet Spot" for a gardener. It means you get to witness the full reveal of the bloom in your own garden, rather than buying a flower that has already spent part of its flowering cycle on a retail shelf.
Come discover the difference that a curated, professional nursery start makes. Invest in your garden’s future this weekend with Skywyld Farm at Rose's & Rust.
Keep blooming,
Amber
