Deep Roots, Fresh Blooms: Skywyld Farm’s New Market Season in Our Hometown

The little greenhouse is full, the fields are waking up, and the sun is finally sticking around. You know what that means—Farmers Market season is officially here!

Skywyld Farm, specialty cut flower farm, at the Cottonwood CA Certified Farmers Market, at the Cottonwood Community Center May 1 through October, every first and third Sunday.

I didn’t just move to Cottonwood to start a farm; I was born and raised right here. This town is my home, and Skywyld Farm is a labor of love for the community that raised me. There is nothing quite like the energy of a Sunday morning at the Cottonwood Certified Farmers Market, and I’ve been working hard all winter to make sure this season is our best one yet.

What’s Growing at Skywyld This Year?

Because I know what grows best in our unique Cottonwood climate and clay soil, I’m not bringing your standard "grocery store" varieties. My goal is to provide our neighbors with flowers you can’t find anywhere else. When you visit the Skywyld Farm market booth, look for:

Extra Large Zinnias: These are stunning, vibrant varieties in unusual colors that you won't find in a standard seed packet.
Unusual Sunflowers: Think deep burgundies, pale lemons, and multi-branching beauties that redefine what a sunflower can be.
Elegant Lisianthus: Often mistaken for delicate heirloom roses, these long-lasting blooms are the absolute crown jewels of our summer harvest.
Snapdragons: Tall, ruffling stalks that add height, texture, and a touch of nostalgia to every bouquet.
Hard-to-Find Specialty Cuts: Unique varieties that thrive right here in our local soil.
